Over 37,000 people have died as a result of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria last week.
According to Turkish authorities, UN and government of Syria statistics, 31,643 people have died in Turkey while more than 5,814 people have been killed in Syria.
The President of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, has consented to two additional border crossings from Turkey being used by the UN to transfer aid to northwest Syria regions controlled by rebels.
Meanwhile, UN relief head, Martin Griffiths, said that the world has so far failed the people of northwest Syria, adding that the rescue phase os “coming to a close.”
The UN further revealed that the earthquakes in Syria may have left up to 5.3 million people homeless.
Also, in Syria and Turkey, about 900,000 people urgently need hot food.
