The House on the Rock pastor, Uche Aigbe, who preached with AK-47 in church on Sunday, February 12, has been detained.
The PUNCH reported that the officer who offered him the riffle, one Inspector Audu who was on an assignment in the church, is to be dismissed.
PUNCH Metro had reported that Pastor Aigbe caused a stir in the church on Sunday when he came in bearing the weapon in his hand.
Brandishing the gun, the pastor picked his way to the altar as many members of his congregation exchanged glances trying to understand what was happening.
But as he made attempt to open his Bible, the preacher looked up and said teasingly, “Some people are looking for my trouble. And I came here prepared.
“Today, there are some pastors with gift of divination who go about ripping people. This is why we should carry our ‘guns’ and defend ourselves. I will particularly be coming very soon for some of you sleeping in the church.”
The sermon was titled: “Guarding your hearts from false teachers” and “faith without work is dead.”
However, the Intelligence Response Team, Force Intelligence Bureau, Garki, Abuja commenced an investigation on Monday morning.
During interrogation, Audu revealed to the police that he only offered the weapon to Pastor Aigbe because he wanted to use it for an illustration during his sermon.
Following the development, the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Sadiq Abubakar, has reportedly made a recommendation to the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to dismiss Inspector Audu.
