Viral photos of the moment when a lightening reportedly struck the ‘Christ the Redeemer’ statue has continued to generate various reactions across social media platforms.
The incident which was reported to have occurred on the 10th of February has been described as a strange natural phenomena.
While many has played down the significance of the incident, others have continued to interpret the occurrence with an air of mysticism.

@_slyofficial’ s position was also emphasized by @Anderson, who tweeted, “Technically it was built with a lightening conductor rod designed to trap the deadly electrical phenomenon. It’s working as designed. Nothing ecclesiastical about it.”
Christ the Redeemer is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with French engineer Albert Caquot.
