A yet-to-be identified eight-year-old has been rescued from a rubble in Hatay, Turkey after 52 hours, following the several earthquakes and aftershocks witnessed in the country.
Turkey and Syria have been ravaged by two earthquakes and several aftershocks since Monday, February 6.
PUNCH Metro had reported that the death toll as at Wednesday had risen above 9,000 with several injured.
The first 7.8 magnitude quake struck near Gaziantep in the early hours of Monday, followed by a 7.5 magnitude tremor hours later.
Thousands of buildings were toppled, hospitals and schools wrecked and tens of thousands of people were injured or left homeless in a number of Turkish and Syrian cities.
Rescuers have warned that time is running out to find more survivors following these two earthquakes.
