The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba, has directed the immediate redeployment of some senior police officers across the country.
This disclosed on Tuesday through a press statement issued by the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on its official Twitter page.
According to the statement, the affected senior police officers included, some Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, and Commissioners of Police.
“DIG Danmallam Mohammed, has been redeployed to the Department of Finance and Administration while the following AIGs have been posted to take up the duties and responsibilities of the DIGs in charge of the following departments of the Force as indicated against their names;
“Hafiz Inuwa was posted to Department of Training and Development, Aji Janga to Department of Research and Planning, Adeleke Bode to Department of Operations, Habu Ahmadu as Force Secretary, whil Shuaya’u Abdulyari assumes office as the AIG in charge of the Force Intelligence Bureau, Force Headquarters, Abuja.”
Also, as stated by their names, the following senior police officers have been assigned tasks and responsibilities as AIGs in charge of zonal police commands.
Matthew Akinyosola as AIG Police Mobile Force, Jonathan Towuru as AIG Zone 6 Calabar, Sylvester Alabi as AIG Zone 2 Lagos, Akande Kayode as AIG Zone 11 Osogbo, and Abimbola Shokoya as AIG Zone 17 Akure.
According to Adejobi, in accordance with the IG’s mandate and strategies to strengthen the operational structures of state commands, the police chief has also ordered the provisional posting of Adebola Hamzat as CP Adamawa State, Frank Mba as CP Ogun State, Suleiman Yusuf as CP Taraba State, Idowu Owohunwa as CP Lagos State, and Faleye Olaleye as CP Ebonyi State pending the approval.
The IG charged the newly appointed officers to get to work right away to make sure the mission, vision, and policy statements of his administration are properly followed in the areas of crime-fighting, public cooperation, and safety, he noted, adding that the posting was effective immediately.
