Platinum-selling artist, Tramar Lacel Dillard, better known by his stage name, Flo Rida, has prevailed in a significant legal battle with Celsius, a manufacturer of energy drinks.
The 43-year-old rapper’s lawsuit against the energy drink was successful, and he received over $82 million in compensation, according to Law & Crime Network.
He had alleged that the business owed him money from an endorsement contract that he had signed with them in 2014 and renewed in 2016.
He said in his 2021 lawsuit against the corporation that, despite his assistance in raising awareness of their products, they did not honor the promised stock options and bonuses.
He had originally asked for $30,000 in damages, but after the jury decided in his favor, he eventually received $82,650,450.
While discussing the subject earlier this week, Flo Rida said that the lawsuit wasn’t about the money, but rather about the agreements Celisus broke.
He said; “It’s about my passion. It’s about my team. It’s about my dedication. It’s about something that I started years ago and just to see it come full fledged like this, I hate for it to be this way.”
