The Edo State Government has revealed that two chiefs in the state has been arrested over the recent train attack in the State.
According to The PUNCH, this was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare,after the state executive council meeting in Benin on Wednesday.
He also stated that seven other suspects had also been arrested in connection with the incident.
Nehikhare said, “The success story in the kidnapping is that five persons and two village chiefs have been arrested in connection with the incident and they are helping with investigations,” he said.
When pressed for the identities of the village leaders, he responded that the police should be contacted for more information.
However, the state police spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor, could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report.
