The West African Examinations Council, has explained that its newly launched digital certificates will help prevent certificate loss, while also eliminating time lag.
According to Tribune, this was stated by the Head of the agency, Mr.Patrick Areghan, while fielding questions on a topic: Going Digital, The WAEC Approach to transforming Africa’s Academic and Employment Mobility held Wednesday via zoom.
He stated that the digitalization of the certificate has made the admissions process faster than ever.
He added that one of the organization’s goals is to contribute to regional global collaboration and defined the action as the body’s commitment to creating a global village.
The HNO claims that the manual system that was in place prior to the digital certificate involved back and forth.
“With the dangers of losing certificates and time lag, the digital certificate has proved its worth.
“Within seconds, you can complete admission processes.
“It is our own contribution of making the world a global village and also contribute to regional global cooperation
“Before the launch of the digital certificate, the manual system was operational.
“It used to be a matter of back and forth, consuming a lot of time and resources.
“It created a lot of agony for the modern African children,” he said.
