As work on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway resumes on Monday, the Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has issued a warning to drivers about violating traffic laws or driving against the flow of traffic.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, this warning was given by the Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, Ahmed Umar, on Sunday in Ota, Ogun State.
Umar claimed that the warning was required because the FRSC, Police, and other sister agencies will be on the scene to stop people from driving against the flow of traffic.
According to the sector commander, the FRSC and other sister organizations were sent to the construction sites to maintain mental stability, regulate driving excesses, and reduce traffic.
“We are appealing to motorists to be patient, refrain from driving against traffic and adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations.
“Our men will be there to arrest anyone who commits route violation or drives against traffic as they will be prosecuted.
“In addition, the motorists should be law-abiding and cooperate with FRSC and other sister agencies to ensure free flow of traffic, reduce time spent and sufferings of the motoring public in the course of the construction work,” he said.
