A TruScan is a portable gadget that detects counterfeit drugs on the spot. It enables regulators and law enforcement officials to undertake field-based screening of pharmaceutical samples in order to identify counterfeits fast and reliably.
The Director General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, disclosed this at a press conference held on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to her, the new initiative will also allow the agency to get Vaccine Lot Release ML4 in order to strategically position Nigeria for vaccine manufacture.
Adeyeye said, “It will ensure good manufacturing practice of Nigeria vaccine companies and assure quality, safety and efficacy of vaccines manufactured in Nigeria or imported.”
