A final year student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, identified as Godson Anumenwe, has been killed by a stray bullet in Imo State.
It was reported that the 500L Radiography student was killed during a class between gunmen and operatives of the Nigerian Army in at a military checkpoint at Ubomiri Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, Sahara Reporters reports.
He was said to have left Port Harcourt for his hometown on Saturday night, December 31, 2022, when he met his untimely death.
His death has been confirmed by the President of the Radiography Students’ Association, Anonde Stephen, through a press statement on Tuesday.
“Until the time of his death, he was in the 500 level class waiting to sign out very soon. It’s a very sad loss for all,” the statement read.
“We sympathize with the bereaved and urge all to remember the family in prayers as we grief and mourn this great loss. Rest easy Godson.”
