The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has reportedly contacted and consoled the husband and family of Bolanle Raheem, the pregnant lawyer who was killed by a policeman on Christmas day in Ajah, Lagos.
Punch Metro reported that Bolanle was shot on December 25 by a police officer, identified as, ASP Vandi, attached to the Ajiwe Police Division in the Ajah area of the state.
The murder has caused no small stir in the country, as different bodies have continued to press for justice for her family. The concerned officer has been suspended and remanded, to face sentence on January 30.
The VP, was said to have contacted the husband and family on December 28 to condole and pray with them.
Osinbajo assured the bereaved family of justice and prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the late Raheem was a member of the Olive Parish of the RCCG in Ikoyi, where Osinbajo pastored until 2015 when he assumed office as Vice President.
