Al Nassr’s Instagram page has recorded significant rise in the numbers of its followers since the club announced the signing of Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The five time Ballon d’Or winner joined the Saudi side on the 30th of December, 2022 for £175m-a-year contract after an abrupt end to his second stint at Manchester United.
Prior to the signing of the former world best player, the Saudi Arabia side had 800, 000 followers on Instagram, however, since the addition of Ronaldo, the club has reached six million followership.
The latest development sees Al-Nassr move above European clubs like AS Roma, Napoli, Everton, Marseille, West Ham and others in terms of followers figures on Instagram.
The club gave a warm welcome to Cristiano Ronaldo on its Instagram account, describing the occasion as “more than history in the making.”
“This is more than history in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome @cristiano to your new home,” the club posted on Twitter.
Football website @Transfermarkt which focuses on player transfers and market values described it as “biggest Transfer in Saudi Arabia’s history!”
