The police officer, ASP Drambj Vandi, who allegedly shot Bolanle Raheem, has been remanded in Ikoyi Correctional Centre till January 30, 2023.
This was made known by the Lagos State Public Relations officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin on Friday, via his Twitter handle, after remand proceedings at the Yaba Magistrate Court.
It was gathered that the Lagos Attorney-General Moyo Onigbanjo lead the prosecution.
According to Hundeyin, the decision was taken after Vandi was arraigned for pulling the trigger that claimed Raheem’s life on Christmas Day in the Ajah area of Lagos State, adding that the order was to give room for the advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
He wrote, “Drambi Vandi was, this morning, arraigned in court and has been remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre till January 30, 2023 to give room for DPP advice.”
This development followed the immediate suspension of Vandi from the police force by the Police Service Commission.
