Nigerians have been invited to submit bids for some property that has been confiscated to the federal government by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The properties was taken from politicians and businesses in the states of Lagos, Rivers, Abuja, Anambra, Gombe, Ebonyi, Kaduna, Delta, Edo, Kwara, Cross River, Osun, and Oyo.
According to a Sunday report on Daily Trust, Diezani Allison-Madueke, a former minister of petroleum, is believed to have acquired part of the property in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt with the help of the profits of financial crimes.
It was revealed that the former oil minister’s 23 luxurious properties in Banana Island Estate, Lagos, had been seized.
The anti-graft agency stated in a public notice on Saturday that people and corporate entities interested in the said property must not have been probed by the commission.
It further noted that bidders were welcome to see the properties and urged them to download bid forms from the EFCC website at www.efcc.gov.ng.
Among the various property are Flat 1, Heritage Court Estate, Rivers State; a three-bedroom apartment with a one-room boys’ quarters at Foreshore Estate off Onikoyi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State .
