14 suspects were paraded on Wednesday by the Lagos State Police Command over their alleged involvement in murder, armed robbery, stealing, criminal conspiracy and fraud.
According to Premium Times, this was disclosed by the commissioner of police in the state, Abiodun Alabi.
“From all of these cases which we successfully cracked, we recovered a total of two arms, 25 live ammunition, eight cars, seven cartons of Cussons baby products amongst other exhibits,” he said.
The names of the suspects include, Seaman Anointing, Onyekachi Egwin, Olayinka Micheal, Jamiu Abdulraman, Daniel John, Smart Richard, and Segun Adeleke.
Others are Monsuru Aderogba, Gbenga Sokanbi, Lukmon Akanwo, Eninjah Jude, Ezugwu Nelson, Raymond Saater Ukange and Taiwo Abdulrauf.
According to the police commissioner, two suspects, Seaman Nnamani Anointing, 28, and Onyekachi Egwin, 27, were detained in connection with the alleged murder of Abiona Hezekiah, a police officer.
“The ASP died when the suspects stabbed and killed him during a traffic stop that degenerated into a face off at the Satellite area of Lagos State,” he said.
“The suspects stabbed three other civilians in their bid to escape. The other stabbed persons are responding to treatment.”
Alabi stated that in order to ensure that justice is served in this situation, the command is collaborating with the state ministry of justice.
He continued by saying that the police detained three suspects after learning on November 21 that “some robbers were observed at the premises of a manufacturing company in the Ikotun region of Lagos State.”
One iron cutter, three padlocks, seven boxes of Cussons infant supplies, damaged padlocks, and ropes were among the things recovered at the crime scene, according to Alabi, who also stated that the suspects will be charged in court once the investigation was complete.
