Residents of Apata junction in Ibadan has been sent into a state of tension after a fuel tanker caught fire in the area on Thursday.
The tanker driver had reportedly lost control before ramming into some shops opposite the NNPC filling station before eventually catching fire.
Viral videos of the incident captured residents screaming for help while the fire rages on.
According to The Nation, operatives of the state’s fire service who arrived shortly after the incident were able to put out the fire.
According to the Spokesman of the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, security operatives are have been deployed to the area.
