Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Benin Command has disclosed the arrest of a 19-year-old boy identified as Iredia Endurance, over a fraud of £250,000.
In a press statement obtained from the agency’s website, the suspect was arrested following a petition by his victim, Christine Brown, who is a British citizen.
According to her, the suspect defrauded her or £450,000.00.
The suspect admitted to receiving $250,000 from the complainant in Bitcoin, FedEx, and gift cards when he was apprehended.
The suspect claimed that he spent the money on a variety of things, including cars, gold chains, and landed estates.
Included among the items recovered from the suspect are mobile phones, laptops, sim cards, and real estate.
The agency also revealed that the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
