Cameroonian Football Association President Samuel Eto’o on Monday attacked a yet-to-be-identified cameraman in Qatar.
The former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea striker was seen on a viral video attacking the cameraman moment after leaving Stadium 974 in Doha.
The footage of the incident showed Eto’o posing for pictures with fans outside the stadium before been approached by the cameraman.
With four men holding Eto’o back, the footage then shows him giving his phone to a man, before breaking out of the huddle to knee the man in the face, knocking him to the ground.
It remains unclear what had transpired between the cameraman and the former Barcelona striker before the violent outburst.
Despite the ouster of Cameroon in the group stage, Eto’o remained in Qatar as a FIFA “legacy ambassador” for the World Cup.
