The Houston Police Department has disclosed that it has arrested a suspect linked to the murder of American rapper Kirsnik Khari Ball, also known as, Takeoff.
The musician, a former member of the rap group Migos, was shot and killed in November at a bowling alley in Houston.
Another rapper in the group, Quavo, was taking part in a dice game when an altercation started.
During the altercation, someone started shooting; the rapper was hit and later declared dead at the scene.
According to TMZ, the Houston police department stated that Takeoff was not part of the argument nor was he armed.
The Department’s chief told the media on Friday that they had detained and charged 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark with the rapper’s murder.
Prosecutors’ court documents revealed that Clark applied for an expedited passport as soon as Takeoff was killed. He had just received the passport and was carrying a sizable amount of cash when he was taken into custody.
Prosecutors are requesting that the suspect’s bail be set at $1,000,000 and that, if granted, he be placed under house arrest in order to reduce the possibility of him fleeing.
