The Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, have stated that she has nothing to say about the transgender woman and social media influencer, Okuneye Olanrewaju, popularly called Bobrisky.
According to The PUNCH, Tallen, stated this while fielding questions from journalists during the 59th session of the State House Ministerial Briefing organised by the Presidential Communications Team, at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
When asked what she thought of the internet personality Bobrisky, Tallen, who had previously documented the accomplishments in advancing the cause of women nationwide, responded, “I have no comments on Bobrisky.”
She stated that rehabilitating women harmed by domestic abuse and gender-based violence has been a top priority for her ministry, despite the fact that 34 of the 36 states have domesticated the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015, while only 13 states have done so in 2019.
As of November 2015, out of 11,053 cases of gender-based violence that were reported through the ministry’s helplines, 33 people were found guilty.
