Men of the Imo State Police Command have killed a notorious armed robber at Ohi/Egbada junction in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state.
The suspect was killed after police operatives intercepted him and his gang robbing some people.
According to a EONS Intelligence, the operatives responded to a distress call from a robbed victim on Monday at about 2127 hours that about three hoodlums attacked him.
The attackers were later seen snatching two motorcycles from their owners and robbing them of their valuables between Ohi and Egbada junction in Owerri West LGA
Following the tip off, the command’s tactical team immediately mobilised to the scene.
Upon sighting the police team, the hoodlums opened fire at them.
However, during the gun duel, one of the armed robbers was neutralised while others escaped on the snatched motorcycles with bullet wounds.
Meanwhile, one fully loaded AK-47 rifle with double magazines belonging to the neutralised robber and one loaded locally made pistol with two cartridges suspected to have been abandoned by one of the fleeing robbers were recovered.
The robber’s was later removed and deposited at Federal Medical Centre mortuary while the operatives are on the trail of the fleeing suspects.
