Netherlands scored two late goals on Monday to defeat their African counterpart, Senegal at the Al Thumama Stadium, in Qatar.
Goals from Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen have the Oranje, the three maximum point against the Lions of Teranga, who were without their talisman, Sadio Mane.
The victory was the Dutch’s 16th in a row, and it puts them in a strong position to win the group, which includes Ecuador and Qatar.
The Dutch will now take on Ecuador, who sealed a 2–0 win over host Qatar, as both sit atop the Group A table on three points. Meanwhile, Senegal will face Qatar in the second group game
