A teenage Nigerian basketball star, Seyi Sodiq, has been reported dead.
The player who plays for the Alba Fehérvár men’s basketball team, was reported to have died at the age of 18 years following a heart failure.
His demise was announced through his club’s website which stated that the deceased died, “a week before his 19th birthday, his heart stopped and he passed away”.
It was also reported that he made his debut for the Székesfehérvár-based club’s adult team at the age of 16.
Prior to his death, he was also reported to have received various treatment for his ailment in Nigeria after he was initially diagnosed.
