After a series of public outbursts, Kanye’s accounts on Twitter and Instagram were suspended, and his business arrangements with Adidas, Gap, Balenciaga, and Vogue were terminated.
Despite the criticism, Kanye persisted in his beliefs, developed them, and made an effort to defend them in multiple interviews.
While there have been rumors that Elon was behind Ye’s account reinstatement, the Tesla CEO has denied any participation, claiming that Ye’s account was actually reinstated before his takeover transaction took place.
Elon tweeted: “Ye’s account was restored by Twitter before the acquisition. They did not consult with or inform me.”
Twitter users had hoped to see the controversial account of former US President Donald Trump, anhd othere who have also made contentious statements, reinstated as well.
Following a referendum in which 15 million people voiced their opinions, the controversial businessman’s account was welcomed back to the site. The yes vote garnered 51.8% of the vote, compared to the no vote’s 48.2%.
Elon tweeted the decision’s confirmation after the outcome, writing:
The Latin proverb “Vox Populi, Vox Dei” means “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”
However, Donald doesn’t appear as eager to return as Kanye does, over two years after he was barred during the riots on January 6, 2021, at the US Capitol.
I don’t see any reason for it (returning),” trump said at a rally. However, later on Saturday, a network account identifying itself as @RealDonald Trump, 45th President of the United States of America surfaced, and the phrase “He’s Back”, has since been trending.
