An unidentified male final year student has allegedly committed student because of a failed relationship, Daily Post reported.
A source said that the event took place at Federal Polytechnic in Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra, on Friday.
It was gathered that the deceased, a polytechnic final-year student, was already completing his Industrial Attachment (IT), a requirement for graduation, when he was allegedly dumped by his girlfriend.
A student of institution, Iyke Orji, while giving details on the incident, said the deceased was “full of energy and life, and an intellectual youngster with near to distinction (First class).
“He’s currently in his IT days, a student of Public Administration. He decided to stay in Oko for his one year industrial training, (but) instead of focusing on his training, he decided to search for true love.”
According to reports, the deceased’s girlfriend reportedly broke up with him, which saddened him. On Friday, when he was unable to handle the situation any longer, he reportedly drank ‘sniper’ insecticide and passed away.
The institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Chijioke Ibeziakor, was not available for comment as of press time.
Meanwhile, ths spokesman for the state police command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, was also unable to corroborate the event.
