Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has promised to reward Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, Flamingos. with N3 million after they claimed the bronze medal at the just concluded FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India on Sunday.
Musa who plies his trade with Turkish Süper Lig club Sivasspor announced the cash reward for the girls via his verified Twitter handle.
He tweeted, “Three million waiting for Flamingos in Abuja.”
Nigeria’s U-17 female league, Flamingos defeated Germany 3-2 on penalties in Mumbai, India.
This is Nigeria’s best finish in the history of the competition. It was Nigeria’s sixth appearance at the competition with their previous best performance a quarter-final finish in the 2010, 2012 and 2014 editions.
