A Lagos State resident, Johnson Olusanya, has expressed his dissatisfaction with Dana Air’s unwillingness to return the N190,000 he paid to reserve two tickets for a failed trip.
Olusanya had booked the Enugu-bound flights for himself and his wife in July but couldn’t make the trip because the airline’s license was suspended by the Federal Government.
Although Dana asked them to process a refund, Olusanya told the Foundation of Investigative Journalism that Dana Air had declined to issue the refund satisfying all requirements for a return.
He said, “Dana Air asked us to process our refund since we couldn’t use the flight tickets.
“We thought the airline would speed up the process so we could book another flight for the appointment we had. But they didn’t refund the money.”
He claimed that after sending the airline the documentation it required in order to get him a refund, he had received no response.
Olusanya said, “The company said it would refund us, but we’ve been waiting ever since. They have asked me to be patient, but to what end?”
Dana Air did not respond to FIJ’s several calls to them regarding the situation. As of the time of publication, neither the airline’s email nor its SMS message had received a response.
