Nigeria students under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students, on Monday, blocked the Lagos Airport Road over the failure of the Federal Government to end the lingering strike embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The students were seen in their numbers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, amid heavy security presence.
They are seen, holding placards, and dancing around as they sing solidarity songs.
According to The PUNCH, the South-West Coordinator of NANS, Adegboye Olatununji, said security agencies had been mobilised to the scene, but they were undaunted.
“Yeah, they mobilised heavy security, but we’re undaunted. We’re there on standby,” he said.
Meanwhile, NANS’ National Public Relations Officer, Giwa Temitope, told Channels TV that policemen at the protest scene were there for protection.
“They are here to protect us. Nobody has been harassed but we are not relenting. No retreat, no surrender,” he said.
