Some Nigerians on Twitter have slammed the Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his absence at the 62nd Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association held in Lagos State.
His running mate, Senator Kashim Shettina, the former governor of Borno State, was spotted at the event which is held at the Eko Atlantic City.
While the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party. Atiku Abubakar; and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, were spotted at the event, Tinubu’s absence became a call for concern for tweeps on social media.
One user suggested that the ruling APC was a scam while expressing surprise over the absence of Tinubu ‘who claims to be the owner of Lagos State.’
@Adamawalastborn tweeted, “The “owner of Lagos” is absent at the NBA colloquium in Lagos. Atiku came all the way from Adamawa state to be part of the NBA conference. PDP is fully represented, and Chief Peter Obi is also on ground. Tinubu who claim to be the owner of Lagos sent Shettima 😂 APC na scam.”
Another tweep, @OmonyeFaith, argued that the former Lagos governor is just a placeholder for Shettims ahead of the 2023 presidential election.·
She wrote, “This NBA drama has reinforced the popular opinion that Tinubu is just a presidential placeholder for Shettima. Nigerians, VOTE WISELY!”
@Chude__ added, “Tinubu’s absence from The NBA conference further reinforces the popular Opinion that Tinubu is just a presidential placeholder for his Vice President Shettima. Scary!
“Tinubu is weak and Senile, he can’t stand the stress of leading a country like Nigeria. Vote Wisely!”
Another tweep, @itzz_blitz1, also believes that Tinubu is a placeholder for Shettima.
“You’re supporting Tinubu because of tribe and selfish goals, but be rest assured that Tinubu will not be the person in charge of his government, Shettima will,” the tweep said.
@royaltyuso tweeted, “Nigerians have indeed rejected Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His Vice Presidential Candidate, Kashim Shettima, representing him at the 62nd Nigerian Bar Association conference, is being ignored by lawyers with lots of noise and side conversations as his speech is ongoing.”
This is just as @elonchorch added, “Tinubus refusal to attend the NBA conference is a pointer to the fact that the 3major contender for the 2023 General Election are: Peter Obi, Atiku and Shettima. Tinubu is a placeholder.”
