Popular Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Daniel Benson, popularly called BNXN is expected to face police sanctions for reportedly assaulting an officer in Lagos State on Wednesday.
Formerly known as Buju, BNXN was said to have spat on the face of the police officer and said it was a good feeling.
According to The Punch, the State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin said the singer will be sanctioned for assaulting a police officer.
The ‘Finesse’ crooner disclosed this in a now-deleted tweet, where he said, I “Spat in a police officer’s face and it felt so good. I let you in my car and you dragged and tear my shirt, and start slapping me? (Sic) Nah, everybody must stop!”
Reacting to the incident, Hundeyin stated via his Twitter handle that the police officers will be punished if found guilty of misconduct.
Sharing pictures of BNXN’s tweet, he also maintained that the singer will “surely” face the law for assaulting a police officer.
“The police officers will be sanctioned for their misbehaviour if established, while @BNXN will surely answer for his assault on a police officer,” Hundeyin tweeted on Wednesday.
