A suspected terrorist, Sanni Gafar, was rescued from being lynched by the officers of the Lagos State Police Command in the Ijora Badia area of the state on Monday.
According to the police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, Gafar who was dressed as a woman was found with a bag containing cable wires, and rolls of black cellophane, among others.
The suspect who was rescued from the mob claimed to be an electrician after his arrest, Hundeyin said, adding that the force has commenced investigation to certain his claim.
Hundeyin said, “Preliminary investigation shows that the male suspect, who many alleged disguised as a woman, is Sanni Gafar, aged 29.
“He was found with a bag containing three hammers, six screwdrivers, one pair of pliers, one chisel, five spanners, three rolls of black cellophane, cable wires, 20mm bending spring, a pair of black trousers, and a plastic box of clips. An investigation is ongoing to ascertain his claim that he is an electrician.”
Hundeyin also revealed that the Lagos State Police Command is currently carrying out its investigation on the incident
