The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission has disclosed the date for the local government election in Osun State.
According to Daily Post, the Chairman of the commission, Segun Oladuntan during a Press conference on Monday, He revealed that the local government election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
It would be recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party had early last week warned the Commission and the outgoing All Progressives Congress administration in Osun State against such a move.
The PDP described it as an illegality that contravened the law.
While noting that the exercise conflicts with the provisions of the law, the Osun PDP had described the planned election as a futile effort, adding that it was an attempt to plunge the state into further financial mess.
