Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, on Wednesday, mourned the state’s Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Goni Bukar Lawan, who died in a ghastly motor accident.
Punch Metro reported that the former member House of Representatives was involved in a car accident along the Damaturu-Kano road on Tuesday evening.
“The death of Bukar is a huge loss to my family, Yobe state and Nigeria as a whole,” Buni stated.
He also praised the contributions of the departed aide to National development as well as the growth of his constituency.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Governor’s Director General Media Affairs, Mohammed Mamman, which was made available via his Facebook page on Wednesday.
PUNCH Metro reported that the remains of the late Yobe state Commissioner were laid to rest according to Islamic rite at Gwange cemetery, Damaturu, the state capital on Wednesday.
“Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni, along with hundreds of people attended the funeral prayers at the Yobe Mosque and Islamic Center before the interment at Gwange cemetery.
