An 80-year-old woman (name withheld) has been killed by suspected hoodlums inside her farm at Costain area in Ore, Odigbo local government area of Ondo state.
The incident which occurred during the week has thrown the people of Costain area of Ore into apprehension.
It was gathered that the Octogenarian had been reported missing in the community since last Wednesday after she had left for farm and did not return.
Eyewitness said the people of the community suspected that the old woman was raped to death based on the position her corpse was found in the farm.
It was gathered that a suspect known as Sunday, the palm wine tapper, has been arrested by some youths in the community after the mobile phone of the old woman was found in his pocket.
It was also gathered that during interrogation, the suspect alleged that some fulani herdsmen killed the woman.
The suspect has however been handed over to the police at Costain community.
When contacted, the police public relations officer Funmi Odunlami said that she would get back for details, but has not gotten back as of press time.
