No fewer than 273 Army officers on Sunday commenced a week-long Senior Staff Course Qualifying Examination at the Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State.
According to Daily Post, this crucial examination is administered by the Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army.
President of the Examination Board and Commander of TRADOC, Maj.-Gen. Kelvin Aligbe, addressed the candidates, highlighting the significance of the SSCQE as a prerequisite for enrollment in the Senior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji, as well as other Staff Colleges internationally.
Aligbe noted, “I believe that while the majority of you are on the first attempt, others are attempting the examination for the second or third time.” He emphasized that the examination is a critical milestone for the officers, influencing their progression within the Nigerian Army.
He reassured the candidates of the examination’s integrity, stating, “I would like to assure you of all of the absolute integrity and understanding of members of the examination panel and Directing Staff (DS).”
Aligbe emphasized the importance of approaching the examination with seriousness and determination, while discouraging any attempts at cheating.
Aligbe further explained that a dedicated team had meticulously prepared the examination, ensuring that it reflects fair and reasonable standards.
“They tried to put together what I regard as fair and acceptable requirements and solutions for this examination. The requirements are fair enough for any serious-minded candidate to tackle successfully,” he noted.
He concluded with a reminder of the examination’s impact on their career advancement, “Your performance in this examination is a key determinant of your progress in the Nigerian Army.”
