Defender William Troost-Ekong and Zaidu Sanusi are doubtful for Nigeria’s final Group A fixture against Guinea-Bissau at the 2023 African Cup Nations.
This came as the duo missed the Super Eagles last training session on Sunday evening ahead of their final group game against Guinea-Bissau at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Monday.
Three Super Eagles players, William Troost Ekong, Zaidu Sanusi, and Alhassan Yusuf, reportedly conducted their running sessions away from the group.
Coach Peserio has already confirmed that Yusuf will not play the Guinea-Bissau tie while also noting that players that are yet to recover after the thrilling encounter against Cote d’Ivoire will not be pushed to take part in Monday’s fixture.
Troost-Ekong scored the decisive goal in Super Eagles’ 1-0 victory against hosts, Cote d’Ivoire last Saturday.
That PAOK Salonica centre-back is expected to be replaced in the starting line-up by Calvin Bassey.
Bruno Onyemaechi could take the place of Sanusi at left-back.
The Super Eagles need a point from the game to confirm their place in the Round of 16.
