Eighteen out of 29 federal directors who participated in the recent Permanent Secretary qualifying examination have failed to meet the required 50% pass mark.
According to an official memo signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Gabriel Aduda, on behalf of the examination committee, only 11 directors successfully passed the test.
These candidates will now proceed to the next stage of the selection process, scheduled for Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
The Federal Government, through the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, had earlier initiated the selection process to fill vacant permanent secretary positions.
A separate memo, issued by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, outlined specific eligibility criteria, barring officials currently facing disciplinary actions from participating in the recruitment exercise.
The statement also confirmed that President Bola Tinubu had approved the appointment process.
Additionally, it highlighted that only candidates from particular states could apply to ensure adherence to the Federal Character principle.
