Ten directors holding various departmental positions within the Independent National Electoral Commission have formally retired from their roles upon reaching the mandatory age of 60 years or completing 35 years of service.
During the farewell event held in Abuja on Sunday, an INEC National Commissioner, Prof. Mohammed Adams, extended congratulations to the retiring directors, acknowledging their service and contribution to the organization.
“As you retire you shouldn’t at any time worry yourself about the past, but the future.
“Don’t think this is the end of the road. This is actually the beginning of another journey in your lives because you are all professionals in your respective fields,” he said.
Adams encouraged the retiring directors to pursue meaningful endeavors that could generate a stable income during their retirement.
Additionally, he advised individuals currently in active service not to fear retirement but to carve out their unique path and make the most of their abilities in any role they find themselves in.
“We should be happy with whatever position you find yourself; be grateful to God and create a niche for yourself,” he said.
