The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested 71 individuals for various offences committed in 2024.
The state Commandant, Adedotun Keshinro, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Lagos.
Keshinro revealed that among those apprehended, 21 were linked to oil theft, one was involved in illegal mining, while 49 others were arrested for different offences.
“Our operational strategies in 2024 significantly reduced incidents of vandalism and other crimes in the state,” Keshinro stated. He attributed the success to the command’s close collaboration with other security agencies and local communities.
Providing further details, the commandant disclosed that the NSCDC secured seven convictions and obtained two judgments, having charged seven cases to court.
He assured Lagos residents of the command’s ongoing commitment to ensuring security through partnerships with communities and corporate organizations.
“We remain dedicated to protecting critical infrastructure and working with residents to maintain law and order,” Keshinro emphasized.
The NSCDC Lagos Command reaffirmed its resolve to sustain efforts in tackling criminal activities and safeguarding the state’s resources.
